Art

Since we've moved into our new home, we haven't done too much to decorate.

I've put none of my photography up, actually to think of it, out of the whole house, we have one thing hanging on the wall (Todd's velvet clown painting). Well, I found the cutest vintage set of artwork. It's a four piece set of wide eyed 1960's mod girls I purchased from
Atomic Hotdish on Etsy. Check her stuff out. Some of the coolest, vintage , retro stuff I've seen.

Aren't they the cutest things ever! The photo is by
Atomic HotDish. The color they are backed against in the photo she took has inspired me to paint our bedroom wall that pretty blue color and of course hang these precious pieces of art against it.

Beach Blast & Polaroid Overcast

I love the beach. I live in walking distance to the beach, but hardly go. I don't know why that is,but I'm gonna make a plan to get my butt down there more often. It's not only beautiful, but relaxing. My best friend Cori is in town visiting from portland and we made our way down to the beach for some r&r. Here's some Polaroid's from our day at the beach along with a few I took last year.

Something about the beach and polaroids that go so good together. They capture the beach in a way nothing else can.

Scenic World

Being  a photographer, I've always been fascinated with stop motion videos. Well, while Todd was on tour for a month boredom got a hold of me. I decided to give in and try and teach myself how to make one. I put together a bunch of pictures I had taken over a year or so (all time lapsed photos) and put them together to a song I absolutely love. Enjoy!

Vintage Swimwear

Every summer I try and get myself a new swimsuit, and for about the last ten years or so I have chosen to buy vintage. I think vintage swimsuits are just so much more flattering to the body. They flatten the stomach, thin the waist and cover the thighs. Above are some that I've collected over the years that I'm selling in my SHOP. Check them out!

Dresses Dresses Dresses!!!

Vintage dresses from my SHOP. A few have been sold, a few are going to be posted this week. Keep checking in! Vintage dresses are my favorite of all things vintage, so I try to keep the store full of them.

Bread Made From Our Garden

Yep! That's right....zucchini bread made from our home grown zucchini. This is my first time having my very own vegetable garden. I love it! We are growing yellow onions, red bell peppers, 4 different kinds of tomatoes and of course zucchini. My favorite vegetable is zucchini, but I happened to let a few of my zucchinis over grow and didn't know what to do with them (if you let zucchini grow too big the seeds inside harden)
How I usually cook zucchini is by cutting it all up,
adding a little bit of olive oil and some seasoning and sauteing. I have this Greek seasoning I like to use, but salt and pepper work quite well too.
I had all this overgrown zucchini and didn't want it to go to waste. My mom had a great idea, "Let's make Grandma Groff's famous zucchini bread she used to make all the time."
My mom still had her old recipe card, with cooking stains that are probably older than I am.

                                                                     Recipe:

                                                        - 2 eggs (beat until foamy)
                                                        - add 2 cups of sugar
                                                        - 1 cup of oil (mix until thick
                                                            and lemon color)
                                                        - 2 cups of grated zucchini
                                                        - 2 cups of flour (sift)
                                                        - 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
                                                        -2 teaspoons of baking soda
                                                        - 1 teaspoon of salt
                                                        - 1/4 teaspoon of baking
                                                          powder
                                                        - 1 cup of chopped nuts
                                                        - add zucchini to sugar mixture
                                                        - mix well, add dry ingredients
                                                        - and fold in nuts
                                                        - pour into oiled and flour pans
                                                        - 350 for 1 hour
                                                        - cool 10 mins and remove
                                                        - makes two cakes (loaves)

You can mix around and make small loaves or big loaves. I made a bunch of batches which consisted of mini loaves to give to friends as gifts and a big loaf to keep for myself.  This is probably the best zucchini bread I have ever had. It's a good gift idea to make mini loaves, freeze them, and then give them as gifts to friends and family for birthdays or Christmas

Here are two of the mini cakes I made.
                                                                Yum!
